Established in June 1991 the Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition (CHHC) is a multi-disciplinary membership organization that addresses the need for health promotion and disease prevention among Chicago’s Hispanic community. CHHC improves health in Hispanic communities by sponsoring culturally appropriate, evidence-based health education classes, and by providing a forum for policy development.
There are currently more than 600 participating organizations, which include local health and social service agencies, community based organizations, universities, churches, and regional offices of national health organizations. CHHC's services include multi-session classes, one-time educational events, forums and training workshops for health care providers and social service providers, media campaigns, and expert consultation.
The Chicago Hispanic Health Coalition is serving as a subnetwork regional lead agency of the Nuestras Voces Network focusing on CDC's NCCDPHP Region E, which includes Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
